Join us for a deep dive into foundations of Contact Improvisation every second Sunday.
Contact improv is a dance form that explores touch, weight sharing, and finding a flow state with other bodies. Beyond the physical, it’s a beautiful way to practice listening, trust, following impulses, and cultivating playfulness.
These workshops are a chance to learn and deepen CI skills, with a combination of exercises and open dancing to integrate what you've learned.
October’s workshop focuses on how we physically communicate consent. We’ll practice saying no, yes, yes and - through our bodies. We’ll explore ways to invite another into a dance and how to read responses through body language.

At 1 pm, kick things off with our inclusive Teacher Summit. It is an open forum panel where we will dive into all things swing dance teaching and foster connections between local scenes. Plus, you will get to mingle with the instructors from this year's Sweet Swingouts.
If you are musically inclined, bring along your instruments because at 2 pm, we are starting a Jazz Jam session. I will have digital copies of the Lindy Focus jam book for everyone to use.
Not a musician? No worries. Bring along your favorite board and card games to share.
