Professor Avi Picard Examine the roots of this conflict, its transformation from a war between two communities to that between two countries, the different Arab-Israeli wars and the Israeli attitude toward the Palestinian question. Avi Picard, PhD, is a visiting scholar from Israel, specializing in Israeli society with an emphasis on ethnicity and the mass-immigration of 1950's. He has been an active member and proponent of the Zionist movement, and currently resides in one of the most disadvantaged settlements in the Negev dessert.
