The Last Town on Earth by Thomas Mullen
Set in 1918 against the backdrop of a deadly influenza epidemic and uncertainty surrounding World War I, this novel examines fear in many forms. The people of a remote town in Washington decide to quarantine themselves, but when a deserting soldier makes his way past the guarded entrance road, events unfold that change the town forever.
