Esteemed psychologist Susie Orbach examines destructive tendencies afflicting women, such as anorexia, bulimia and obesity, and discusses how the media has contributed to making women feel that any exception to the ideal body is problematic and something to be fixed. In her recent book, Bodies, Orbach reveals the true dimension of the crisis and what women can do to heal. Orbach is a psychoanalyst and the author of Fat is a Feminist Issue and Hunger Strike. She is a professor at the London School of Economics.
