EVENT: Enjoy historic Salem for the birthday of our country. We will walk about 0.5 miles as a group to picnic and enjoy the bands, pops concert, and air force fly over at Derby Park by the harbor, culminating with beautiful fireworks. Dinner can be purchased in Salem or brought from home. After the fireworks (about 9:45), there will be an optional Salem Ferry ride back to Boston (the ferry is 2 blocks from Derby Park). The last couple of years the ferry ride was spectacular. We witnessed the entire coastline's array of fireworks (including Boston's grand finale.). If you are planning on taking the ferry back to Boston you should purchase a ticket in June (salemferry.) as this option will fill up fast. Salem is also accessible via MBTA Commuter Rail and B
