An evening of Klezmer music and dancing, with violinist Alicia Svigals, founder of the Grammy Award-winning Klezmatics, will be held at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Saturday, March 8 at 7:45pm. Klezmer is the traditional celebration music of East European Jewry, played at weddings, bar/bas mitzvahs and other happy occasions. Yiddish dancemaster Steve Weintraub will provide dance instruction while Alicia Svigals and Friends keep the euphoric beat going. This event is open to all.
