Local artists will display and sell original art and hand-made crafts at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6 from 11am-5pm, as part of Newton Open Studios weekend. Media ranging from painting, pastels, sumi-brush painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, silks and jewelry will be displayed. Newton Open Studios features more than 175 artists displaying and selling their work in homes and sites such as the JCC across Newton. The 17 artists showing at the JCC are either JCC art teachers or have honed their skills through classes taken at the Center.
