Given the current political climate in Israel, can models of diplomacy from Northern Ireland, South Africa and elsewhere help point a path to lasting peace? Can the legacies of nations once beleaguered by genocide, tribal warfare, apartheid and oppression help light a way forward? From Conflict to Peace - Lessons of Diplomacy will be the topic of a discussion at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30pm.
