Scheduled to perform in the fall but sidelined by a broken hand, renowned jazz trumpeter Valery Ponomarev and his Hard-Bop Quintet present inspired and authentic jazz and jazz renditions of Jewish tunes in celebration of Purim. Ponomarev played in Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers before embarking on his own successful career. Known for his original trumpet style, he is also an accomplished writer and composer.
