Dancing with Music in Mind

Christopher Caines Dance Company Choreographer Christopher Caines offers a unique opportunity to share his working process in a preview performance of this year’s New York company season. Following an excerpt of a new work, the choreographer will dismantle the dance, reveal its root phrases and transformations, and demonstrate how the choreographic structure is developed in counterpoint with the musical score. The dancers will then perform the complete work. The afternoon concludes with a discussion with Caines and his collaborators, moderated by noted dance critic Mindy Aloff.
