Laura Miller, introducing and interviewing (after the reading) Michael Chabon's new novel is The Yiddish Policemen's Union. Called a "prose magician" and "gentle-spirited writer of boundless ambition" by the Village Voice, he is also the author of the short-story collections A Model World and Werewolves in Their Youth; the novels Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Wonder Boys and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, which won the Pulitzer Prize; and most recently, The Final Solution: A Story of Detection.
Laura Miller is a co-founder of Salon.com, where she is currently a staff writer, and editor of the The Salon.com Reader's Guide to Contemporary Authors. She is also a regular contributor to The New York Times Book Review and other publications.
