In conversation with Barbara Lane, JCCSF Director of Lectures & Literature Composer, author, world music preservationist and Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart comes to the JCCSF. Today Hart spearheads the Endangered Music Fund, which returns recording royalties to indigenous songwriters, and serves as a Trustee of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. Hart's most recent book, Songcatchers: In Search of the World's Music, documents his lifelong fascination with the history and mythology of music.
