9:30 a.m. (Saturday Morning Services) On the first and third Friday nights and Saturday mornings of the month, MesorahDC helps young, single professionals experience a beautiful — and tasty— Shabbat. To usher in the Shabbat, we begin with a traditional, easy-to-follow service, based around the stirring melodies of the late Jewish composer, Shlomo Carlebach. Explanations and a running commentary accompany the service, so that even people less familiar with it feel more connected. The service is followed by a full-scale, gourmet Shabbat meal on the first Friday of the month, and a lighter dinner on the third Friday, in the social hall downstairs.
