We fly to the Northern city of Changmai and tour the cottage industries, a visit to one of the Hill Tribes, a tour and show at an Elephant work camp with a highlighted Elephant ride through the jungle area.

We leave and visit Pattaya for a relaxing 3 days of sun, relaxation and a visit to the Coral Island. Bangkok is also well known, besides its fascinating culture, for its major variety of very low cost shopping. The Night Markets are a lit with fabulous merchandise; including copies of almost every famous brand imaginable from Gucci to Pucci to Smoochi! Real jewelry and gemstone, like sapphires, emeralds and rubys, are found in abundance and at prices far less than the USA. Thai Silks are wonderful in a full range of colors from white to black and every shade in between. Tailors will make suits, dresses and shirts to measure in 24 to 48 hours and are fabulous.

DECEMBER 24, 2003: Depart from Los Angeles for the flight to Bangkok. Cross the International Dateline and lose one day!

DECEMBER 25-December 28, 2003: Arrive in Bangkok, transfer to the deluxe hotel. Overnights at ROYAL ORCHID HOTEL.

DECEMBER 26, 2003: After breakfasts, enjoy a city tour and view many of its Wats (Temples). Afternoon we visit the Royal Palace (which could be called â€œDisneyworldâ€) and see the Emerald Buddha.

DECEMBER 27, 2003: A full day tour to the Dumnernsaduak Floating Market, then to the Rose Garden for lunch and an afternoon show of Thai Folklore, dancing, kick-boxing.

DECEMBER 28, 2003: Transfer to airport after breakfast and fly for approximately one hour to the North to visit Changmai. Overnight at SURIWONGSE HOTEL. This hotel faces the city square which is transformed into an open-air night market. Afternoon tour to see the cottage industries.

DECEMBER 29, 2003: A full day tour today includes a visit to an elephant training camp, experience a ride on the back of the elephants through the area, lunch at a butterfly and orchid farm, followed by an afternoon in jeeps driving up through the dusty tracks to one of the local hill villages.

DECEMBER 30-JANUARY 1, 2004: Return to Bangkok by air this AM and transfer back to the ROYAL ORCHID HOTEL. Balance of days at leisure. New Yearâ€™s Eve party to be planned.

JANUARY 1-4, 2004: We transfer to the resort area of Pattaya with a stop enroute for lunch. Overnights at MONTIEN HOTEL. Optional golf, swimming and other resort activities.

JANUARY 2, 2004: A full day Coral Island tour with lunch.

JANUARY 3, 2004: Full day at leisure.

JANUARY 4, 2004: We return to Bangkok for our flight back to the USA.
