The West Coast Premier: A Jewish Childhood in Poland Before the Holocaust With Mayer Kirshenblatt and Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett A major theme of Rosh Hashana is the notion of "returning". In images and words, Mayer returns us to the world of his childhood in a small Polish city before the Holocaust. Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett has been interviewing her father for forty years. The result of this unusual intergenerational collaboration is a book and exhibition: They Called Me Mayer July.
