Best-selling author and acclaimed film director Nora Ephron talks to author Alex Witchel about Witchel’s new novel, The Spare Wife. They discuss some of its themes, including society, the media and getting ahead and also the life of a writer. Witchel is a staff writer for The New York Times Magazine and also writes “Feed Me,” a monthly column for the Times’s Dining section. She is the author of Girls Only: Sleepovers, Squabbles, Tuna Fish and Other Facts of Family Life and Me Times Three. Ephron’s films include Silkwood, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail and Michael.
