Joseph Berger is the deputy education editor at the New York Times and has reported from Israel on a half-dozen occasions. His most recent book is A World in a City: Traveling the Globe Through the Neighborhoods of the New New York. He hosts the 92nd Street Y series Breaking News in the Jewish World and Beyond.
