, Sunday, June 8th, 2008, 8:30 AM with Coastwalk Please join Mosaic Outdoor Club of Greater Los Angeles and Coastwalk www. for a 7.5 miles hike to Parker Mesa Overlook (1,525'). The overlook offers sweeping views of the coast and the Los Angeles Basin, while the trail through Los Liones Canyon offers a mix of riparian habitat and broad views of coastal chaparral. The hike is rated moderately strenuous.
HIKE MEETING PLACE: -- The meeting place is at the Los Liones Trailhead at the end of Los Liones Drive in the Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. If you wish to look it up on Mapquest, the trailhead is across the street from the LDS Church at 575 Los Liones Drive.
HIKE START TIME: Meet at the trailhead at 8:30 AM (directions below); leave at 8:45 AM SHARP!!
HIKE END TIME: Around noon.
BRING: Minimun 2 quarts water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and snacks.
FOOTWARE: Hiking boots or trail running shoes. Absolutely no sandals and tennis shoes are not recommended because of loose footing on the trail.

DIRECTIONS TO THE TRAILHEAD: Follow Sunset Blvd from Pacific Coast Highway about 0.2, and turn left onto Los Liones Drive. Continue on Los Liones Drive to the trailhead about 0.5 mile at the street's end. If you wish to look it up on Mapquest, the trailhead is across the street from the LDS Church at 575 Los Liones Drive, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272.
PARKING INFORMATION: Free parking on the street and in a parking lot on the right hand side of the road about 100 yards before reaching the trailhead.

We will carpool from the West side, the Valley and and Orange County (See below).
West LA Carpool
We will carpool from Trader Joe's - 10850 National Boulevard (at Westwood). There is plenty of parking on the side streets - do not park in the Trader Joe's lot. Meet in the upper Trader Joe's lot at 8 AM and leave at 8:10 AM SHARP. PLEASE NOTE: Be prepared to form your own carpools if there are no Mosaic or Nexus representatives.
Valley Carpool
We will meet in Sherman Oaks, 15410 Ventura Blvd, at the Union 76 Gas Station across from Marriot Courtyard Hotel (on Ventura Blvd. just west of the 405 Fwy.). Meet at 7:40 AM and leave at 7:50 AM SHARP. PLEASE NOTE: Be prepared to form your own carpools if there are no Mosaic or Nexus representatives.
Long Beach/West Orange County Carpool
We will carpool from BEHIND CVS Pharmacy (formerly SavOn Drugs) - 12490 Seal Beach Blvd Seal Beach, CA 90740-2711 (at Saint Cloud). There is plenty of parking BETWEEN the CVS Pharmacy and the Ralph's. There is a Starbuck's and various other restaurants and stores such as ZPizza, Togo's, Island's, Target, etc. in the same parking lot. Meet in the parking lot behind the CVS Pharmacy at 7:20 AM and leave at 7:30 AM SHARP. We leave at 8:45 AM SHARP!
