Musician, educator and composer Wynton Marsalis is the artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. The winner of nine Grammy Awards in jazz and classical music categories, he is the only artist to have won Grammy’s in five consecutive years. His 1987 oratorio on slavery and freedom, Blood on the Fields, is the first and only jazz composition to win a Pulitzer Prize in music. Marsalis’s new book, Moving to Higher Ground: How Jazz Can Change Your Life, is a master class on jazz and life.
