Drawn from Memory: Holocaust and History in the Art of Samuel Bak (10/2/2008) This event occurs daily between 9/19/2008 and 11/30/2008 Born in Vilna in 1933, artist Samuel Bak addresses the tragedies he and other European Jews endured during the Holocaust. This exhibition, on display September 19 through November 30, considers how Bak's reinterpretations of conventional art genre and appropriations from well-known artworks evoke displacement and loss and create universal symbols of suffering. Open Tuesdays 10 am to 5 pm; Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 10 am to 8 pm; weekends Noon to 5 pm. Closed Mondays.
