The Dignity of Difference

Tue 2 Dec, 12-1:30 pm. 610 South Michigan Ave., Chicago, 60605. Ellie Sandler, 312.322.1700. Spertus Museum - [email][events]

How to Avoid the Clash of Civilizations Tuesday, December 2 from 12 noon to 1:30 pm (doors open 11:45 am) Each Jewish Book Club session features a lively discussion led by the local expert who recommended that session’s thought-provoking title. The chief rabbi of Britain, Jonathan Sacks is well known through his television appearances and well-regarded books. Here he writes of the world’s discontents and argues that religious values can unite rather than divide. He asserts that values such as education and responsibility are more imperative than commercial relationships to any new world order. Rabbi Evan Moffic, Assistant Rabbi at Chicago Sinai Congregation, leads the discussion. Tickets are $25 | $20 for Spertus members and include a kosher lunch. Please
