The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit: A Jewish Family\'s Exodus from Old Cairo to the New World by Lucette Lagnado
This memoir of an Egyptian Jewish family\'s gradual ruin centers on Lagnado\'s father, \"the captain,\" a dashing man-about-town in 1950s Cairo. As the political climate worsens for Jews, the family escapes first to Paris and then Brooklyn, and is forced to leave their luxurious life behind.
