Modern Dance Beginning First Session

Our Hawkins-based beginner class introduces students to the body's relationship to breath, weight and space through simple steps and movement phrases. The intermediate-level class, taught in a style influenced by both the Nikolais and Limón techniques, helps students move through space with longer, more complex combinations. Live accompaniment provided for all levels. Modern Improvisation Explore your movement impulses through this guided introduction to dance improvisation. Ages 18 and up, mixed levels welcome. Tuition covers admittance fee to all Dance Jam Fridays following the class.
