Little dancers leap and twirl through the basics of ballet as they are introduced to the concepts of grace, line, posture, stretch and creative improvisation. Naoko Moriyama Robbins (Creative Ballet) Naoko Moriyama Robbins is originally from Japan, where she received BA in Early child hood Education and certified in the Montessori method of teaching. From an early age, she studied Hanayagi method of traditional Japanese dance. Ms, Robbins also studied ballet with Nobuko Ushio and expanded to Jazz and Modern with Asako Akashi. In 1988, she came to New York where she studied dance and chorography with Igal Perry, Jan Miller, Nina Winner, Nurit Cohen and other teachers. Ms. Robbins is the director of the Foreign Students Program at Peridance Center and for the past 14years has been an integral part of the Peri Child Program, a division of Peridance dedicated to dance education for children. Ms. Naoko Robbins was found the Japanese program at Educational Alliance in 1990. In 1995 she founded the Japanese nursery school, Friends Academy aiding 100 Japanese and Japanese–American families bridge culture, education and language. Ms, Robbins teaches Creative Movement and Ballet at all levels and has taught Peridance, Ballet Tech, Central Park dance and Imagine, Inc. She has also trained with Young-Ah Kim at Movement & Beyond and certified to teach Gyrotonics® and Gyrokinisis®.
