From 1983-2005, civil war between
north and south Sudan killed at least 2 million people, mostly
civilians, and displaced more than 4 million. In 2003, the first
genocide of the 21st century began in Darfur, Sudan
destroying the livelihoods of Darfurians by bombing and burning
villages, looting economic resources, and murdering, raping, and
torturing non-combatant civilians.
Please join us for an important
panel discussion with survivors from the Sudanese community, as they
speak to the war and genocide they faced and how they are working to
raise awareness of the continued atrocities Sudan confronts today.
