Thursday, November 5 Gifted young artists from Mannes College will perform as part of the conservatory’s yearlong music festival “The Mendelssohn Salon,” celebrating the 200th anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn’s birth. He and his musically talented sister, Fanny, were hosts and guests at cultural gatherings known as salons, which included the great composers of their day. This celebratory concert explores the music of Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn and of other important Jewish composers of the 19th century Romantic period. A co-production of Mannes College, The New School for Music and The Jewish Museum. Member Prices: $10 General: $15; Students / Over 65: $12
