Esperanza Spalding Quartet

Sat 5 Dec, 8 pm. 600 I Street, N.W., Washington, 20001. Jessica Krivoy, 202/408-3100. Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - [email][events]

A superb bass player, highly nuanced vocalist, and promising composer, Spalding is a “triple threat” defying easy categorization. Collaborating and performing with artists including Stanley Jordan, M. Ward, and The Roots, Spalding’s music is a playful collage of jazz fusion, Brazilian samba, and complex harmonic structures with a touch of hip-hop sensibility, helping redefine jazz for a new generation. This performance is part of a new 3-part series – Sessions Save by purchasing series tickets here.

Admission: Tickets are $30. A $1.50 service fee is applied to all tickets. All seating is general admission. Seating is in pews (similar to benches) so there are not individual, chair-style seats. Seating is split between the ground floor and a balcony level. On the night of the event, will-call and ticket sales will end at 10:00 pm. No one will be permitted to enter the event after that time. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
