In addition to laughing at clips from today’s popular Jewish women comics, we’ll discuss whether poking fun at our own stereotypes has a deeper impact: Is it okay to shine the spotlight on our stereotypes? Does it reinforce ignorant views about Jewish people, or does it somehow help break the stereotypes? Should Jewish stand-ups worry about the emotional effects of their comedy, or is it all about getting the big laugh? We’ll figure it out together in this salon-style conversation.
