Join us for a journey that connects our ancient and modern heritage. Walking in the footsteps of the Pharaohs, we’ll discover the treasures of its fabled past: pyramids you know well (and some you don’t), the masterworks of the Cairo Museum, and the awesome monuments in Luxor of the possible Pharaoh of the Exodus, Ramses II. We’ll also seek out the Jewish community’s more modern heritage and examine the unique geo-political role that Egypt plays in today’s Middle East conflict .
Then, we’ll make our own Exodus to the Promised Land of Israel, exploring sites and museums that reveal the Israelites’ early years, such as the completely renovated and newly reopened Israel Museum. We’ll also visit the spectacular new Rabin Center in Tel Aviv, and the Begin Heritage Center Museum in Jerusalem as we assess the modern peace between Egypt and Israel, and ponder the possibilities for closer ties between these ancient enemies.
