Princeton Battlefield SP/Clark House/Princeton Environmental Film Festival Sat Jan 15 9:30AM 2011 RSVP on Meetup. We will meet at 9:30 at the entranceway to the Clark House, Princeton Battlefield State Park, 500 Mercer Road, Princeton, NJ 08540-4810, 609-921-0074 609-921-0074 , http://www.u. We will take a free guided tour of the Clark House and then hike on the trails.
At 2:00, we will walk through the Princeton University Library, to see the Samuel Finley Breese Morse paintings that are hanging on the walls. We will also walk through Princeton University's Nassau Hall, which was the temporary home of the Continental Congress and where they first learned in 1783 that the British had signed a peace agreement that ended the Revolutionary War. This is a National Historic Landmark and was built in 1756 (and rebuilt after 2 devastating fires).
At 4:00, we will go to the Princeton Library, 65 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ 08540, 609-924-9529 609-924-9529 , www.PrincetonLibrary.org to see and hear a multimedia presentation on Pandemic Prevention.
At 5:30, we will go to dinner at Zorba's Brother Greek Restaurant, 80 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ 08540, 609-279-0999 609-279-0999 .
At 7:00, we will go back to the Princeton Library to screen the multiaward winning film, "Peaceable Kingdom". This film won the Audience Award from the Berkshire International Film Festival and the Environmental Film Festival at Yale. "Peaceable Kingdom also won the Best Feature Documentary at the Peace on Earth Film Festival and the Moondance Film Festival. It also won the Grand Jury Prize from the Canada International Film Festival.
At 8:00, we will go to House of Cupcakes, 30 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ 08540, 609-924-0085 609-924-0085 for dessert.
This is a kid friendly event. Come for as much of the day as you would like. If you are coming for only part of the day, please let me know when to expect you. Wear layers of clothing that are easy to take off and on. Hiking boots and/or hiking poles are suggested in case the trails are icy. Bring a lunch, snacks and water. For any NYers that would like to join us, the Red Line, Northeast Corrider, has a station stop in Princeton, which is an easy walk to the University and Library. NYers would miss the Princeton Battlefield State Park, since there is no transportation to it. There is a $5 nonmember/unpaid member fee.
