in Conversation with Anthony DeCurtis Like his music, Trey Anastasio’s career has seen many incarnations. As a founding member, principal songwriter and de facto front man for the rock band Phish, Anastasio helped grow the band from its grassroots beginnings in Burlington, Vermont to success as one of the top touring acts in the world.
By the time the band called it quits in 2004, Phish had sold more than eight million albums worldwide. Anastasio’s latest release, Bar 17, is a diverse blend of songwriting and crisp guitar work. He speaks with Anthony DeCurtis, a contributing editor for Rolling Stone.
