Dušan Týnek Dance Theatre: String(s) Theory

Thu 8 Mar. 1395 Lexington Avenue, New York, 10128. 212-415-5500. 92nd Street Y - [email][events]

Known for its fascinating choreographic vocabulary and imagination, Dušan Týnek Dance Theatre offers String(s) Theory, two programs featuring the premiere of Fleur-de-lis, a poetic suite to Biber's baroque sonatas, in addition to the critically-acclaimed works Košile and ScENes. Inspired by sinister 19th Century Czech ballads and set to a lush and eclectic score of strings, Košile is an epic tale with supernatural elements juxtaposing pagan mythology with more contemporary perceptions of fate and gender. ScENes is a collection of highly kinetic fantastical sketches set to the rich music of contemporary composer/violinist Michael Galasso.
