Travel Back to Ancient Times on a Bus Trip to Getty Villa in Malibu, Sunday, May 6th Join Mosaic, Nexus and Kesher Israeli as we travel back in time to ancient Greece and Rome. After waiting for 5 years, the fully renovated and restored Villa opened earlier this year. It is modeled after a first-century Roman country house, the Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum, Italy.
We will view over 1,200 works of art that is ancient Greek, Etruscan, and Roman. The galleries are organized by theme such as Gods and Goddesses, Monsters and Deities, Stories of the Trojan War, Glass, and women and men. The Greeks are credited with developing democracy (yet they had slavery), philosophy, theater, idealistic art and athletics. The Etruscans borrowed from the ancient Greeks and influenced the Romans. They were metal workers. The Romans were known for their engineering, architecture and realistic portraits of ancient Romans. The Romans emulated the ancient Greek religion and art. The Romans developed the idea of the Republic (and had slavery).

Individual tickets are booked until next Fall, but we have group entry. You MUST ride the bus to be admitted, as the Getty will not allow group attendees to arrive by car. The bus Pick-up/Drop-off will be on the Westside near the 10 and 405 -- details forthcoming.
Bus will leave promptly at 10:00 AM.
We have a reservation for 11:00 AM.
Lunch will be around 1:00 PM. In order to keep the costs down, the decision was made to NOT order Box Lunches. You can order Lunch at the Cafe ($10 - $15 -- Mediterranean fare) or at the Espresso Cart ($8 - $10 -- they have salads, soups, sandwiches) or brown bag it.
FOOTWARE: Comfortable walking shoes -- Remember! You'll be on your feet for hours!
BRING: A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, a brown bag lunch or money for
lunch, camera. It might get cool, so bring a sweater or light jacket.
COST: $12.00 for the Bus + $ for Lunch. All payments are FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE AND MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE!!! No Walk-ins! The cost covers the bus, parking fees, taxes, gratuity, and admission. Lunch is on your own.
Once you RSVP "Yes", we will contact you with the pymnt. info. As space is EXTREMELY LIMITED, your reservation is confirmed ONLY when we receive your check AND you receive, an email confirmation from us.
