Sunday, June 10 • 2:00pm Classical Music Series presents a Spring Concert featuring the Bel-Etre Ensemble, with pianist Madelaine Forte and cellist Mariusz Skula. Franco-American pianist Madelaine Forte has won numerous prizes in international competitions. After studying music in Paris and Warsaw, she earned degrees from the Juilliard School and New York University. She has performed extensively as a recitalist and soloist with orchestras throughout the world, and has given lectures and master classes at colleges and universities in the United States, Europe and Asia. A fellow at Silliman College, Yale University, she also tours with her husband, Allen Forte, Battell Professor emeritus of the Theory of Music at Yale, and Fellow of the American Academy of

As Principal Cello of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, Mariusz Skula toured Europe, recorded many CDs, and made numerous radio and television broadcasts. Mr. Skula began his musical education in his native Koszalin, Poland, later graduating from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and Yale University, where he was a graduatestudent with Aldo Parisot. He is presently a member of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and collaborates regularly with other groups, such as the Hartford Symphony and Waterbury Symphony Orchestras. He serves on the faculty of the Thames Valley Music School at Connecticut College and The CT School of Music, in addition to maintaining a private studio.
