One of the most exciting, inspiring events of 2003, saluting Israel on the occasion of its 55th anniversary.
One of the most exciting, inspiring events of 2003—“The Spirit of Israelâ€-- will take place in the form of a gala evening saluting Israel on the occasion of its 55th anniversary. This will take place on Monday, May 19, at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.
Super-star Jerry Seinfeld, living legend Tony Bennett, Grammy Award winner Norah Jones, actor-comedian Ben Stein and Israeli singing sensation Achinoam Nini (Noa) will headline the event, joined by other top entertainment figures.
Tickets for this event are now on sale with prices ranging from $36 to $1000. We very much look forward to seeing many thousands of friends and supporters at this memorable gathering…a place where every JCPA member will undoubtedly want to be.
“The Spirit of Israel†is being organized by the Israel Forever Foundation in cooperation with the Embassy of Israel in Washington and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The event will launch a series of Foundation events all aimed at highlighting Israel’s significant contributions to the world in everything from the arts and sciences to democracy, technology, culture and values.
Washington attorney Richard D. Heideman and his wife Phyllis chair the Foundation. Honorary chairs of the May 19 event are Ambassador and Mrs. Daniel Ayalon, Mort Zuckerman and Abe and Irene Pollin. Last month, Israel’s Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and President Moshe Katsav each endorsed the Israel@55 initiative and the work of the new Foundation. Both Prime Minister Sharon and President George W. Bush have May 19th on their calendars.
