The Critic’s Voice: A Tribute to Parnassus

Parnassus: Poetry in Review was founded in 1973 by Herbert Leibowitz and Stanley Lewis to provide a forum for poets, novelists and critics. It has published seminal essays by Hayden Carruth, Seamus Heaney and Adrienne Rich, among many others. Helen Vendler wrote that Parnassus is "like the mountain whose name it bears, it rises up unchallenged." Gathering to celebrate Parnassus's legacy include the following longtime contributors: David Barber, Marilyn Chin, Ben Downing, Albert Goldbarth, Colette Inez, Karl Kirchwey, Wayne Koestenbaum, Joy Ladin, Herbert Leibowitz, William Logan, Danielle Ofri, Eric Ormsby, Willard Spiegelman, Brenda Wineapple, David Yezzi.
