Chris Abani's novels include The Virgin of Flames and GraceLand, which won the 2005 PEN/Hemingway Award. His most recent collection of poetry is Hands Washing Water. The Chicago Tribune described Abani as “a writer who has come through Lagos and London to take his place as one of our newest, and most gifted, native sons.” Elias Khoury is the author of 11 novels, including Gate of the Sun, a winner of the Palestine Prize. The New York Times Book Review hailed it as “a genuine masterwork.” Khoury is the editor-in-chief of the cultural supplement of Beirut's An-Nahar and a professor of Middle Eastern and Islamic studies at New York University. His new book is Yalo.
