News Media Malpractice – Mis-Covering the Middle East

Tue 2 Dec, 7-8:15 pm. 600 I Street, N.W., Washington, 20001. Michelle Weiner, Community Outreach, 202/408-3100. Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - [email][events]

Tuesday, December 2 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. It's not all about the Palestinians. The news media's misplaced emphasis on the Palestinians and the Middle East overall causes them to misunderstand and misreport the conflict that happens there. In this one-session class, we will examine why Israel's case is chronically ignored. We will be looking at case studies in the Washington Post and National Public Radio (NPR). The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. This class is taught by Eric Rozenman, the Washington Director of Camera, the 50,000-member Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America. He is also a former editor of B'nai B'rith's International Jewish Monthly and the Washington Jewish Week. Register here.
