Dr. Harold Varmus and Robert Krulwich: The Art and Politics of Science Dr. Harold Varmus, president of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, talks about the role of science in the new administration and other issues, including cancer research, his career at the National Institutes of Health and his forthcoming book. In 1989 Varmus was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of the cellular origin of retroviral oconogenes. Part of the series: On the Brink: Discoveries in Science.
