Maya Angelou narrates the compelling story of the holocaust as seen through the eyes of artists who created art as acts of rebellion, endurance and personal and historical record. The artists risked their lives to make lasting statements about the human spirit and survival against unimaginable odds.

Film followed by discussion with filmmaker Aviva Kempner (Hank Greenberg, Partisans of Vilna) and Bernice Steinhardt, co-founder of Art and Remembrance, both daughters of holocaust survivors who were artists.

This film is supported by the Milton and Helen Covensky Fund at the Washington DCJCC. Co-sponsored by The Generation After.
