Swartswood State Park

Swartswood State Park/Sterling Mining Museum/Elias Cole Restaurant Sat Mar 13 9:00AM 2010 RSVP on Meetup. We will meet at the Duck Pond Parking Area, Swartswood State Park, Swartswood, NJ 07877-0123, 973-383-5230, www.p://www.s. at 9:00 for a hike.

There are several loops to hike, with easy to difficult terrain. You can do as much or as little hiking as you want.
At 12:30, we will meet at the entranceway of Sterling Hill Mining Museum, 30 Plant Street, Ogdensburg, NJ 07439-1126, 973-209-7212, www.SterlingHillMiningMuseum.org. The cost of the tour is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7.50 for kids 12 and under. As a group, we will not be mining after the tour. However, if you want to mine after the tour, be sure to read the website to find out what equipment you need to bring and the cost.
At 4:00, we will have an early dinner at Elias Cole Restaurant, 1176 State Route 23, Sussex, NJ 07461-3605, 973-875-3550. This restaurant takes CASH ONLY!
This is a kid friendly event. Wear layers of clothes, bring water and a picnic lunch. Bring sunscreen, bugspray, sunglasses and sneakers or hiking boots. Come for as much of the day as you want. If you decide to come for only part of the day, please let me know when to expect you.
There is a guest/unpaid member fee of $5.
