Description: Do you love to sing? Do you want to share in the joy and meaning that comes from singing Jewish music in a community? Koleinu, Boston's Jewish Community Chorus, invites you to join us as we begin our 9th season on Thursday, October 7, 2010.
Koleinu ("ko-lay-noo"), a non-audition group of 70 members who love learning and singing Jewish music together, is directed by our dynamic and skilled conductor, Carol Marton. Koleinu meets Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9:45PM at Hebrew College, 160 Herrick Rd. in Newton Centre.
Our first three rehearsals are open, so why not give us a try? No pressure to join; no prior musical or Jewish experience necessary. Open rehearsals will be held on 10/7, 10/14, and 10/21 at Hebrew College (kosher snacks and camaraderie provided!).
Koleinu sings a wide range of Jewish choral repertoire, including liturgical, secular, traditional and contemporary works. We generally perform a shorter program in the winter and end the year with a full program in the spring featuring our repertoire for the season. Come learn and sing with us - experience the thrill of making music with one of Boston's most popular Jewish musical groups!
