Medieval Studies Workshop: Were Jews Made In the Image of God? The Implications of a Discourse in Medieval Europe (XIth-XIIIth Centuries) Presenter(s): Brigitte Bedos-Rezak, Department of History, NYU Professor Bedos-Rezak has produced a distinguished an influential body of work on medieval sealing practices and their implications for conceptions of identity and authority in the period. She is, without doubt, the most important scholar of medieval seals (a major category of historical evidence and works of art in their own right) alive today and her work has accomplished an impressive and influential synthesis of French and North American scholarly approaches and insights.
