The Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center in Newton (333 Nahanton Street) will hold a basketball camp for children in grades K-5 during the week of July 11-15. The camp will focus on team concepts, developing fundamental skills and improving self-confidence. Participants will be divided by age and ability. Camp will be led by local recreation specialist and youth basketball coach Peter Sylvester. Cost for the program, which takes place from 9am-4pm, is $420. Half-day (9am-noon) rate is $290. Early drop off (8am) and extended day (4-6pm) options are available. The camp is open to the entire community. The camp will also run during the week of August 15-19.
