The Rabbinic Tradition Develops in Medieval Europe

While rabbinic tradition is based on the Talmud composed in Palestine and Babylonia, this tradition was shaped during the medieval period in Europe. Living in often difficult and hostile environments, rabbis applied the Talmudic traditions to real-life issues that serve as precedents for the Jewish practice of today. Primary source materials will be distributed.
