Learn the rules, dos, don’ts, hints, and tips that will help you discover the fun and excitement of declaring your first “mah jongg!” Get a head start in anticipation of the Skirball’s forthcoming exhibition Project Mah Jongg, opening May 17.
Instructor: Elaine Sandberg has been a mah jongg instructor for many years. She has taught American mah jongg for Holland America Cruise Lines, and currently teaches classes throughout the Los Angeles area. She is the author of A Beginner’s Guide to American Mah Jongg: How to Play the Game & Win, the definitive book on how to play American mah jongg.
Additional fees and materials: A fee of $24, payable to the instructor at first class session, to purchase the required text, A Beginner’s Guide to American Mah Jongg, and playing card.
