Noted Author Of, “Recipes Remembered: A Celebration of Survival” To Speak In Highland Park, March 5th June Feiss Hersh interviewed 80 Holocaust survivors who have found ways to turn tragedy into triumph and offer a lesson for us all. She’ll be speaking about their life-affirming stories and the 175 recipes they gave her (and she tested) that honor the lives of the families they lost and perpetuate their near-destroyed cultures. Included in the book are recipes from Poland, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Greece.
By combining her talent for cooking with her dedicated support of the New York Museum of Jewish Heritage in “Recipes Remembered: A Celebration of Survival”, Ms. Hersh has given us a visceral memory of lost worlds. All book proceeds are donated to the museum. March 5th 7:45 p.m. Admission $10.0
