Learn about Adult Type 1 Gaucher Disease, an inherited disease that occurs more frequently in people of Ashkenazi (Eastern and Central European) Jewish descent than in those with other backgrounds.

Learn about Adult Type 1 Gaucher Disease, an inherited disease that occurs more frequently in people of Ashkenazi (Eastern and Central European) Jewish descent than in those with other backgrounds. In the Ashkenazi Jewish population, it is seen in approximately 1 in 400 to 1 in 600 people. A free seminar sponsored by Pfizer will be held at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Thursday, April 25 from 6:30-7:30pm. Leading the seminar will be genetics expert Dr. Gregory Pastores, Associate Professor at New York University Langone Medical Center. Dinner provided. Open to all. No cost. RSVP to wellness@jccgb.org.
