Regina Nejman Brazilian native, Regina Nejman, winner of the 2005 Fringe Festival’s Outstanding Choreography Award, presents her energetic, highly charged company of eight dancers in excerpts of Frozen Baby. Danced to Mio Morales' original Brazilian-influenced score, Frozen Baby is a provocative and visually magnetic dance installation set in a moment when time is running out. The characters race against the freezing effects of time, while reflecting on romance, desire, entrapment and the power of choices. Regina's company is presented by Joyce SoHo.
Anna Sperber
Anna Sperber embraces the unexpected in an excerpt from The Tiger Situation, an evening-length work presented by DTW that excavates the tensions lying between unfettered release and fearful resistance. Stillness is distorted by dynamic surges as the performers navigate momentum, build resilience, and enter the unknown with abandon.
Megan Sprenger, mvworks
Where do emotion and mathematics meet? "No where." In tri-state native Megan Sprenger's No Where, dancers embark on an instinctual, methodical and ultimately irreversible journey through equations of pure logic and raw, unadorned emotion. Presented by PS 122, No Where, is set to an original score by Jason Sebastian.
All Fridays @ Noon event are free.
