Author Brenda Dater will discuss her book Parenting without Panic: A Pocket Support Group for Parents of Children and Teens on the Autism Spectrum at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Thursday, November 13 at 7:30pm. In her book, Dater draws on her experience as a support group leader and parent of a child on the spectrum to offer advice to parents on a wide range of related parenting issues. Dater is the Director of Child and Teen Services at the Asperger/Autism Network (AANE) where she teaches workshops, facilitates support groups and provides consultations for parents, grandparents and professionals.
